OMG best chicken fried steak ever. And we go to different breakfast places every Friday for the last 3 years. We live in Denver.

Like I've said before, it's kind of hard to screw up breakfast and this was a pretty decent to good breakfast. The scrambled eggs weren't fluffy enough for my taste, they were really flat and thin, weird. The pancakes were thick with a little crunch on the edges, just the way I love them. Yum! Coffee didn't need any cream, on account of being just a tad week. I will go again, due to the extremely low prices snd friendly service. Breakfast for two, with coffee -$13

We went on a Friday night for their prime rib special. Upon walking into the lounge area a sign was posted stating that food orders were taking 45 minutes. Kudos to them for being honest. We decided to wait it out. For as packed as they were our waitress was right on top of us. The food actually only took about 30 minutes to come out. Huge piece of steak, baked potato and spaghetti. The prime rib was cooked well, and although the 2" strip on the end of the steak was tender, the middle was quite chewy. The baked potato was fine, and the spaghetti was just a standard very bland side. Really wasn't expecting a lot more I suppose. For the price and quantity of food I'd give it 3 plus stars, but for the overall taste I'm going to have to stick with a 2.

third visit in a short time period. Much better this time, in every respect! The tables were well cleaned, which they do a good job with. Our waitress kept an eye on us. Our food came quickly and the quality was great. I'd say this visit deserved 4 1/2 stars. I almost never give a 5 unless a place just totally blows me away. This is the NORMAL for us at this business. The last 2 visits were abnormal. Good job folks!

Greasy spoon diner at it's best. I have only enjoyed breakfast from here, but we are starting to become regulars, that could be good OR bad? You can't beat the price, Saturday's egg specials are $4.95. Good luck finding that sort of deal at another breakfast spot in Omaha. I will say, the chicken fried steak is some of the best I have ever had. They also have great pancakes. A few other items not so great, the breakfast burrito (covered in canned nacho cheese) and the Belgian Waffle (it had a greasy coating). The free coffee is also nothing fantastic. While the breakfast is tasty, I'm not a fan of the Keno atmosphere, there are still 'smoking' areas, which carry over through the whole place. If you go for breakfast, wait to shower until after you eat here. Good for families, or friends needing a belly full of heavy breakfast after a night of drinking. Seriously, that is the clientele on a Saturday..... Hey, where else can you play Keno and eat bacon?

Good breakfast, good food in general. Hot beef is great as well as the chicken. They have $1 tacos on Monday which are decent. It's a great bang for your buck. Same with the attached bar, it's cheap.

Diners are diners and I think it's rare to find a diner that reaaaaaaally stands apart from the rest as an epic diner. Unfortunately, Jimbo didn't get my Jimbone aroused if you know what I mean. I have a co-worker that is a DIE HARD fan of Jimbo's diner and has been telling me to go here for years! Today was that day and it's not the best food I've ever had in the history of the world and it's not bad either. As an appetizer, my friend ordered fried chicken liver and it wasn't bad! It was a little greasy, but huge chucks of chicky insides not overpowered by the batter. The menu is pretty typical of a diner: breakfast foods, steaks, sandwiches, burgers, and even a small mexi selection if you're feeling a little AIYAIYAIYAI... you know. I did like that the fountain pop drinks (coke products) were 93 cents with free refills! Even for a diner that's pretty good! I ended up getting a Hambaagu.... what's a hambaagu you ask?!? Well, in Japan there are hambaagu restaurants and they basically serve large sized hamburger patties over a bed of rice with various toppings like shredded daikon, japanese curry, fried egg, etc. Anyway, it's bomb and they had something called Hamburger Steak which is exactly what a hambaagu is except with white people sides like mashed potatoes and corn. I asked them to make it as raw as possible because I like my meat ethio style yo!!! I thought it was pretty decent and I loved all the grilled onions on top. The gravy is very flavorful and the corn... well not much you can do to make corn magical other than add unicorn tears to it. The other people at the table got a club sandwich, steak sandwich, pork tenderloin, roast beef plate, and fried fish sandwich. I asked everyone's opinion and I got an average star rating of three, which is what I would give this place too. I didn't have any, but apparently the fries were a little greasy too. Of course, I asked about dessert because I didn't see it on the menu and our waitress Jimbette told us that usually some old lady comes by and gives them pies to sell, but they were only down to one slice... ummmmmmmmmmm.................... No dessert = Rude!!!! Just sayin... All in all, this is your typical diner. Cheap @ss food, keno in the background, father time and his friends sitting around a table chillin, nice but frank service, daily specials, you know... the usssss. The food seems decent but don't expect your tongue to be doing a happy dance in yo' mouf mmmkay! Oh and being in La Vista and all, there is a sign saying that you MUST be wearing a shirt WITH sleeves!!! So don't bring your WWE sleeveless Ts to the joint!

I have been here a few times before - we went for breakfast yesterday. I ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs and it was delicious. Others had the same, french toast and biscuits & gravy. Everyone enjoyed their food. We sat in the bar (Swizzle Sticks) and the service was great.

I come hear every now and then. The main draw is the KENO and cheap prices. This is one of the best bang for your buck places in town. That said, the food here is the definition of mediocre. It's not bad, you'll eat it if you're hungry, but not worth going out of your way for. This place is best for breakfast! Really hard to mess up scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, etc. Don't come here for lunch or dinner.

Breakfast: Scramble eggs were mediocre(but I'm picky with my eggs). Sausage and hash browns were good...not great. The pancakes...now I would go back just for those!! Very good pancakes!

I have eaten chicken fried steak all over the place, it is one of my favorite dishes for breakfast/lunch/dinner and the CFS here at Jimbo's is consistently excellent. It's more like a chicken fried lean hamburger, very tender. Definitely hand-breaded and fried to perfection, I always opt for the gravy on the side so the steak maintains a crispy breading throughout the meal. Prices are right, too! I don't frequent the place always but whenever I want a CFS and am in the vicinity, this is my choice. Service has always been great too, I always see the same waitresses and they are good. I usually come for breakfast and the hashbrowns and eggs are always well prepared. It's a cheap diner so adjust your expectations accordingly and I am sure you will walk out satisfied.
